The vineyards for this flavorful Syrah are located in the central part of the Napa Valley (primarily Rutherford) where the warmer climate produces grapes with deep purple color and complex varietal characteristics. Earthy flavors and a very smooth finish combine to create a very rich, well balanced wine. Aged 20 months in French oak barrels, this very special wine is a combination of two outstanding years, 2000 and 2001.
Grilled vegetables with rosemary, garlic and savory Middle Eastern spices and barbecues of sausages or steaks for summer dining. Hearty stews and soups for cold harvest and winter days. Roast pork stuffed with apricots and French prunes is another favorite.
